Job Description:

Analysis of computer science, engineering, and software engineering issues to devise solutions for complex application problems, system design challenges, or network issues.
Execution of software management and integration tasks, enhancement of existing computer systems, evaluation of software capabilities, architecture, throughput, real-time processing constraints, cybersecurity, and software safety.
Evaluation of commercially available, open source, government-provided, and contractor-provided software.
Acting as a Software Architect.
Collaboration with other NAVAIR departments like System/Software Safety and Cyber detachment.

Additional Responsibilities:

Senior-level individuals may supervise junior staff members and/or oversee all staff assigned to a particular project. They may also ensure adherence to project procedures and controls, manage project staffing, and lead in resolving issues. Interaction with system or program Contractors, vendors, and Government representatives on technical aspects of programs/projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Completion of a BS or BA degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-certified college program. (Bachelor's degree is mandatory, and neither an associate's degree nor extra years of experience can substitute it).

Required Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in software engineering, involving software requirements analysis, design, coding, integration, and testing.
Three (3) years out of the five (5) should include software engineering work for DoD aircraft systems, weapons systems, mission systems, or support systems.
