    Description

    The City of North Miami Beach has an outstanding aftercare and summer camp program for kids We're interviewing now for full-time summer positions at all five of our dynamic community centers.

    Examples of Duties

    Ideal candidates will:
    • Have some experience working with kids
    • Appreciate outdoor activities
    • Have the ability to maintain composure and problem-solve under stress
    • Have a relentlessly positive attitude
    • Love to have fun working with kids and making a difference in our community
    • Pass rigorous background screening process
    Minimum Qualifications

    Additional Criteria:
    • Summer Camp Counselors must be at least 17 years old. Experience as a teacher or coach, teacher's aide, camp counselor, or aftercare/daycare worker is strongly preferred, but not mandatory.
    • Lifeguards must be at least 18 years old and possess current certifications in Lifeguard Training, First Aid and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer and Water Safety Instructor.
    • Shallow Water Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old and possess current certifications in Shallow Water Attendant, First Aid and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer.
    • Cashier must be at least 17 years old. Experience as a bank teller, or a cashier responsible for cash sums of money.
    Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of education, training and experience; oral interview(s); background investigation; reference checks; medical evaluation; controlled substance screening. Preference will be given to certain veterans, spouses of veterans, or unmarried widows/widowers of veteran. Proof of veterans' eligibility must be provided at time of application EOE M/F/D/V.
