- Submit the prior authorizations for medications prescribed by providers to assist consumers in obtaining their medications if a prior authorization is requested by insurance or pharmacy. Follow up with the pharmacy if discrepancy with medications.
- Provide support for Office-Based Addiction Treatment (OBAT) and Medication Management services by requesting records from Primary care provider or hospital discharges to include discharge summaries, lab results, and well visits. Records are scanned into attachments for multiple Responsibility Units (RUs). Update Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) of each individual one day prior to their appointment with provider, or nurse will complete.
- Work with scheduling and just in time services to review and monitor for consumers who are not compliant, and make calls to the consumer/guardian or collaborate with case managers to help engage consumers back into services.
- Review charts for compliance of services needed, and inform the nurse(s) of services needed to be completed. Run report for nursing to assist then in consumer needs for quarterly reviews, treatment plans, and annual psych assessments when due.
- Screen calls for integrated care, nursing, and providers, and take messages to the clinical staff to follow up.
- Provide clerical support to nursing staff including but not limited to: faxing, making copies, and record request per clinical staff.
- Attend and participate in meetings such as nursing meetings, business meetings, and keep mandatory training up-to-date.
- Perform such other duties as assigned by supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Medication Benefits Assistant facilitates the mediation assistance program for consumers and will assist in application for entitlements. Additionally, Medication Benefit Assistants submit the prior authorizations for medications prescribed by providers to assist consumers in obtaining their medications if a prior authorization is requested by insurance or pharmacy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
