Security Guard (Part-Time)

Hours: 12:00 AM-7:00 AM

Security Guard at Ditch Witch:
This employee protects Company facilities from fire, theft, vandalism, and other threats during weekends, and holidays.

The guard identifies visitors, deals with carriers, keeps a daily activity log, monitors surveillance equipment, and maintains contact with local police.

He or she also does some minor maintenance work on equipment and performs other duties as assigned.

Check doors, windows, and overhead doors, and secure them as necessary.
Maintain contact with local police and communicate with them as needed.
Monitor equipment (heat treating furnaces, heaters, video monitors, etc.).
Watch for and respond appropriately to problems, including fires, leaks, intruders, equipment malfunctions, severe weather, and medical emergencies.
Record any significant events in the security log.
Perform limited maintenance duties on equipment, doors, etc. Demonstrate mature, sensible judgment and be able to work with only a limited amount of supervision.
Office environment part of the time.

Physical hazards such as powered vehicle, and pedestrian traffic, sharp objects, moving machinery, arc-welding and other electrical equipment, and high-voltage power supplies.

Hazardous materials such as fuels, oils, grease, paint, solvents, coolant, pressurized gases, various acids and caustics, cleaners, and metals.

Frequent outdoor work in all kinds of weather.
Extended periods of time working alone.
