    Pratt R D Engineer (Entry Level)

    Job Description

    Pratt R D is focused on the development of new products and technologies to advance the capabilities of Pratt Industries to serve their customer base across a wide range of industries. From paper production to complex thermal packaging and beyond, Pratt is constantly pushing the boundaries to discover new solutions to age-old problems. With the expansion of the new product development cold chain testing lab, a qualified engineer is needed.

    R D Engineering Job Responsibilities:
    • Creating and developing new products to meet consumer needs.
    • Contributing towards the planning, execution and monitoring of testing a product.
    • Redesigning and refining existing products.
    • Meeting with other departments to discuss product concepts
    • Testing prototypes for functionality and longevity
    • Prepare and perform cold chain tests with various different food products.
    • Strong general understanding of technology.
    • Keeping the lab space sterilized and organized.
    • Import and organize data in excel.
    • Document all photos and steps of each test performed.
    This is a salaried position that includes a monthly bonus structure. The hours are 8:30-5:30 with a one-hour lunch break, 5 days per week (40 hours). Some weekend and weekday overtime as needed to meet critical deadlines. Pratt has a culture of moving fast and working in teams to achieve goals.     Education and Experience Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or relevant field.
    • 0-6 months experience in related position
    • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.).
    • Advanced analytical and mathematical skills.
    • Excellent collaboration, communication and teamwork skills.
    • Demonstrate an ability provide innovative and creative solutions
    Additional R D Engineer Qualifications/Skills:
    • Willingness to learn new equipment and techniques.
    • Demonstrate ability to solve basic technical problems.
    • Direct experience with the use of spreadsheets to compile data.
    • Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight.
    • Highly organized and precise.
    • Ability to occasionally handle boxes weighing up to 60lbs.
    • Ability to spot trends over multiple tests.
    • Have a respect for procedures and standards.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Time management and organization.
    • Experience in leadership.
