- Advise clients of the tax implications relating to their business objectives, recommending alternate courses of action, as well as identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations
- Has strong attention to detail and ability to review U.S. federal and state income tax returns for businesses including S corporations, C corporations, partnerships, and individuals
- Has knowledge of U.S. international tax reporting, corporate inbound and outbound structuring, CFC GILTI and Subpart F, foreign tax credits, PFIC rules, U.S. nonresident withholding tax, etc.
- Conduct primary and secondary review of complex international tax returns
- Perform technical detail review for accuracy of U.S. international tax reporting forms including U.S. federal Forms 5471, 5472, 926, 8992, 8832, 8865, 8858, 1118, 1116, 3520, 3520-A, 1120-F, 1040NR, 1042, 1042-S, 8938, FBAR, etc.
- Proactively research existing and proposed tax law to determine impact on clients' financial position; present finding/recommendations to clients as appropriate
- Develop tax planning strategies to minimize U.S. and foreign income taxes
- Develop tax-efficient structuring of international transactions; make effective use of tax treaties
- Review workpapers prepared by staff; recommend changes, additional documentation, research, and/or calculations as necessary to comply with applicable tax law and Firm policy
- Contribute to firm marketing and business development activities
- Providing supervision, training, mentoring and guidance to tax staff, seniors and other members of the team
- Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred
- Juris Doctorate degree, LLM and/or MST/MBT, preferred
- CPA required
- 7-12 years' experience in a public accounting firm
- Superior client service focus
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory experience
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ProSystem fx, CCH Access, and BNA Tax Planner
- Ability to communicate complex technical items to target audience so that relevant issues are clearly understood
- Superior analytical and legal and tax research skills
- Able to work moderate overtime throughout the year with heavier overtime required during certain business cycles
