    Join Our Facilities Team as a Custodian at ASPCA!



    Summary:


    If you're skilled as a custodian and want to be part of a dynamic, collaborative team that truly impacts lives, then come join us at ASPCA! The Facilities team at ASPCA aims to maintain optimum conditions at all locations to support the staff, volunteers, and animals. The Custodian role, under the guidance of the Facilities Manager in Manhattan, involves essential building maintenance to upkeep cleanliness and orderliness.


    Responsibilities:


    The responsibilities of the Custodian include, but are not limited to:

    • General Building Maintenance (90%):
      • Use work order system efficiently
      • Conduct comprehensive cleaning of various areas
      • Handle flooring care and perform sanitation protocols
      • Assist in minor general repairs and furniture assembly
      • Ensure safety by reporting any concerns to managers
    • Operate Cleaning Equipment (5%):
      • Utilize floor cleaning machines and other tools
    • Other Projects (5%):
      • Assist in safety and security testing
      • Participate in onboarding of new employees

    The Custodian should embody the ASPCA Core Values, emphasizing commitment, ownership, teamwork, elevation, and impact in all tasks.


    Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in English
    • Physical capability for heavy lifting and movement
    • Basic computer skills
    • Ability to follow directions promptly
    • Effective communication skills
    • Prior experience in housekeeping preferred
    • Reliability and willingness to work assigned shifts
    • Competence in buffer and extractor tools desirable
    • Valid NY Driver's License preferred

    Compensation and Benefits:
