Summary:
The mission of the Idaho Department of Correction is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access?to programming and opportunities that reflect a community experience, foster corrections ?and restore victims of crime.?Probation and Parole Officer, Seniors employ a balance of principles related to counseling, case management, and law enforcement to ensure the safety of our communities and individuals who are under the supervision of adult felony probation or parole.
Trained in the principles of evidence-based practices, Probation and Parole Officers build rapport with clients and utilize community resources to assist clients in moving toward long-term behavioral change.
Responsibilities:
+ Counsel clients in dealing with a variety of problems including drug and alcohol abuse, financial, marriage, employment, education, and legal problems. + Design and implement case plans for clients and monitor progress. + Facilitate and co-facilitate groups in areas such as employment, drug abuse, relationships and finances. + Write violation, post-sentencing, pre-sentence investigation and court reports, and modification orders. + Investigate behaviors, law violations, transfers, employment status, and residence of clients. + Arrest probationers or parolees, conduct searches of persons and property, and secure evidence. + Make home visits and employment and community contacts with treatment providers and members of the criminal justice system.
