    Evans Library at Florida Institute of Technology invites applications and nominations for the Dean of Libraries. We seek a dynamic and collaborative leader who advances the University's mission and strategic goals through visionary initiatives supporting research, learning, and teaching. As the senior academic administrator for the Library, the Dean provides executive leadership, direction, and accountability for the successful management of all aspects of Library resources, services, programs, and infrastructure. The Dean of Libraries advocates for the Library within the University and the broader community, building relationships and positioning the Library as the intellectual and cultural hub of campus.

    Responsibilities

    • Guides the evolution of the Library in the development and implementation of Library goals, objectives, and strategic planning.
    • Collaborates on planning, development, and integration of library assessment practices, coordinating and compiling data for IPEDS and SACSCOC accreditation.
    • Singularly administers the Library budget using Workday financial management system.
    • Actively initiates and seeks external funding opportunities to support the Library and university's mission and fundraising efforts.
    • Leads the library in progressive, STEM-focused scholarly communication efforts and initiatives.
    • Analyzes staffing needs and directs the personnel activities of the Library, including recruitment, onboarding, evaluation and retention of faculty and staff.
    • Champions the Harry P. Weber University Archives to internal and external stakeholders to elevate Florida Tech's branding and visibility.
    • Represents and synthesizes Library resources into the fabric of campus through participation on the provost's council and senior administrative committees; Represents Florida Tech as a member of external professional organizations and consortia.
    Qualifications
    • Master of Library Science degree from an ALA-accredited institution; a doctoral degree is preferred.
    • A minimum of ten years of experience as a librarian with five years of increasingly responsible management or administration experience in an academic library.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with university departments and administration and engage collaboratively and positively with constituents and stakeholders.
    • Experience synthesizing assessment data to drive and support project management and long-term planning.
    • Commitment to fostering a positive, welcoming, and equitable environment for a diverse student, staff and faculty population.
    • Evidence of innovative initiatives in support of research and learning.
    • A deep understanding of current trends, opportunities and challenges in information technologies, scholarly publishing, preservation, and the dissemination of knowledge.
    • A strong record of professional service and scholarly achievement.

    Annual Security & Fire Safety Report

    The federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) requires colleges and universities, both public and private, participating in federal student aid programs to disclose campus safety information, and imposes certain basic requirements for handling incidents of sexual violence and emergency situations.

    Florida Tech's 2023 Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by Florida Tech; and on public properly within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus.

    The numbers provided include crime statistics that were reported to local law enforcement agencies, campus security and other Campus Security Authorities.

    The report also includes institutional policy statements regarding campus safety and security measures; descriptions of prevention and awareness programs; related university procedures and important guidance; and other essential safety information.

    Official Transcripts
