Job Description and Duties

SENIOR MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) – SIERRA DISTRICT / ALPINE MONO SECTOR / BODIE STATE HISTORIC PARK

Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. Applicants who receive State public assistance need to identify their status as a CalWORKs recipient in the comments area on the application. Applicants must submit a verification of their CalWORKs eligibility status, which may include the most recent Notice of Action showing TANF eligibility or a copy of your last aid check stub. If verification is not submitted with the application, the application will not be processed. (Applicants may obtain verification from the CalWORKs program).

The reporting location for this position will be Bodie State Historic Park. The normal work hours are from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, up to four days per week including weekends, holidays and during special events. This position is seasonal and may work up to 189 days. The Senior Maintenance Aide works under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Chief I and is directed on the job by permanent and senior maintenance lead staff.

Bodie State Historic Park is hiring multiple Senior Maintenance Aides. The Senior Maintenance Aide may act as a lead to other seasonal maintenance staff and will perform various housekeeping tasks to ensure that public health and safety standards are maintained. This position performs tasks of cleaning restrooms, restocking restroom supplies, litter pickup, grounds work and other manual labor tasks. This position requires operating gators (utility type vehicles), trucks, and small equipment to clean and maintain the park facilities and grounds. The Senior Maintenance Aide may assist permanent park personnel with more technical and/or difficult tasks. Must be willing to work holidays and weekends. This is a uniformed position, and the successful candidates will be required to purchase and wear a State Parks uniform.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

This position requires a valid Class C driver's license. You must answer the questions addressing your driver's license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver's license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
