RESEARCHER IV-(T Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Urology Chair Office Department, is seeking a Researcher IV.

General Responsibilities

Working with a high degree of independence:

To oversee projects within the laboratory

To assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of lab activities.

To collect, enter, summarize, analyze, and interpret data.

To contribute significantly to the planning/design of studies.

To help develop long or short-term goals.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Conducts basic science, translational, and clinical research.

Leads animal program as well as performs animal surgeries.

Data collection, analysis, and interpretation using established procedures.

Prepares reports/data in the prescribed format.

Aids in the training of trainees and other research staff.

Maintains and orders lab supplies as needed.

Writes and edits manuscripts and abstracts as needed.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Annual Salary Range $47, $56,000.00

Qualifications

Doctorate in a related field

OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience

OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience

OR Associate's degree in related field and six (6) years of related experience

Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferences

Some research experience with cell culture and animals, flow cytometry, immunology, and molecular biology.

Key Skills

Proficient with data management software.
