    RESEARCHER IV-(T Description

    The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), Urology Chair Office Department, is seeking a Researcher IV.

    General Responsibilities

    Working with a high degree of independence:

  • To oversee projects within the laboratory
  • To assume responsibility for the day-to-day operation of lab activities.
  • To collect, enter, summarize, analyze, and interpret data.
  • To contribute significantly to the planning/design of studies.
  • To help develop long or short-term goals.
  • Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts basic science, translational, and clinical research.
  • Leads animal program as well as performs animal surgeries.
  • Data collection, analysis, and interpretation using established procedures.
  • Prepares reports/data in the prescribed format.
  • Aids in the training of trainees and other research staff.
  • Maintains and orders lab supplies as needed.
  • Writes and edits manuscripts and abstracts as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Annual Salary Range $47, $56,000.00

    Qualifications
  • Doctorate in a related field
  • OR Master's degree in a related field and two (2) years of related experience
  • OR Bachelor's degree in related field and four (4) years of related experience
  • OR Associate's degree in related field and six (6) years of related experience
  • Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

    Preferences

  • Some research experience with cell culture and animals, flow cytometry, immunology, and molecular biology.
