    Job Title: Production Supervisor

    Location: Chattanooga, TN

    Job Type: Full-Time

    About the Position:

    As a Production Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to quality standards set by design specifications. Your responsibilities will include effectively scheduling production activities to meet targets at minimal cost, implementing corrective and preventive measures to address quality issues, and assigning personnel to work centers based on daily consultation with other Production Supervisors and the Production Manager.

    To be Successful in this Role, You Should Have:

    • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED); prior work experience preferred, or a combination of education and experience deemed sufficient by management.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience as a supervisor or operator in heavy manufacturing, millwright, or demonstrated abilities through on-the-job training or education.
    • At least 1 year of experience in Microsoft Excel and lean continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting tape measures, blueprints, and bills of material (BOMs).
    • A commitment to ongoing learning and application of lean principles for continuous improvement.
    • Experience in developing and leading multi-skilled teams and driving improvement initiatives through small group activities.
    • Understanding of production costs, including waste, downtime, scrap, and re-work.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain positive working relationships with various stakeholders, including customers, vendors, coworkers, and management.
    • Initiative and judgment in work methods, along with the ability to delegate tasks effectively.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
    • Leadership qualities to lead by example, gain respect from the team, and communicate with clarity.
    • Quick learning abilities, as the manufactured equipment involves unique parts and frequent change orders.
    • Adaptability to cope with pressure, deadlines, and rapidly changing situations, while understanding the importance of customer deliverables and the cost of poor quality.

    Supervisor and Leadership Expectations:

    • Supervise and lead a team of 6-25 operators, including training, planning, assigning, and directing work.
    • Evaluate employee performance, provide feedback, and administer rewards or disciplinary actions as necessary.
    • Address employee complaints and resolve conflicts in a timely and effective manner.
