Substitute Van Driver - Part-Time
The Opportunity
The Town of Mansfield, Connecticut is seeking substitute van drivers for our Senior Center Transportation Program. Drivers transport residents in our 10 or 12 passenger Senior Center vans. Samples of driving duties include: shopping trips; rides to area services; recreational outings; medical appointments.

The Senior Center is a part of the larger Human Services Department which promotes independence, personal enrichment and an enhanced quality of life for Mansfield residents of all ages through a variety of programs and services. Through shared values of advocacy, collaboration, education, inclusivity, and service, the Human Services Department promotes individual resiliency and community connectedness.
Mansfield, with a population of approximately 26,000, is located in the Northeastern portion of the state, better known as Connecticut's Last Green Valley National Heritage Corridor. Home to the University of Connecticut, Mansfield offers the unique blend of urban (Downtown Storrs - ), suburban, and rural living in a university setting. Mansfield has a variety of cultural and educational offerings, as well as an abundance of natural resources ideal for activities such as hiking, cycling, and kayaking. Mansfield is a Council-Manager form of government, with the Town Manager serving as the Chief Executive Officer responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Town.
Work Schedule
Substitute van drivers are utilized on an as needed or on-call basis. Driving usually occurs Monday- Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm, however we do have occasional recreational trips on weekends and evenings. This position is part-time, up to 19 hours per week.
The work location is the Mansfield Senior Center, 303 Maple Road, Mansfield, CT 06268.
Compensation
The salary range for the position is $17.00-$21.00 per hour. There are no benefits associated with this part-time position.
Minimum Training and Experience
Candidates must hold and maintain a public service license or commercial driver's license.
