    We are seeking an experienced PROJECT ENGINEER for our office in Pittsburgh, PA.

    The primary function of this role is to provide technical oversight on engineering scopes for EPC or Design-Build projects with challenging schedules. This position involves helping customers refine project solutions, optimize projects through creative, value engineering solutions, and navigate supply chain challenges. Projects may range from small, fast track endeavors to major projects up to $100MM. The role includes troubleshooting electrical projects and providing commissioning support. The PROJECT ENGINEER will collaborate with multiple business units and project managers and may oversee various project stages.

    This role requires periodic travel to job sites nationwide and occasional short-term on-site assignments.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide engineering solutions that support customer technology and cost-effective, constructable designs.
    • Deliver designs ensuring safety during project delivery and operation.
    • Implement and oversee the direction, coordination, and evaluation of engineering activities in collaboration with the Project Management and Field Management Team.
    • Establish project objectives and performance standards according to operating policies and the project turnover process.
    • Support proposal efforts and estimate needs, often participating in the proposal process to identify critical equipment and technical solutions.
    • Engage in customer meetings, site visits, and discussions with vendors to determine optimal solutions for new projects.
    • Assist in selecting engineering firms based on qualifications, experience, cost, and other factors.
    • Ensure all contract specifications and company interests are protected and adhered to.
    • Participate in project schedule and budget development, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
    • Support procurement for EPC projects by coordinating with engineers and vendors to maintain schedules and address critical path items.
    • Maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, engineers, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
    • Support strategic planning initiatives and carry out assigned responsibilities to ensure success.
    • Engage in self-improvement and leadership development to enhance individual and organizational effectiveness.
    • Promote client satisfaction and its impact on the company's reputation and business opportunities.
    SKILLS:
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and adept in using technology for communication.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effective communication with diverse individuals.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multitask, and respond promptly.
    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
    • A four-year degree in electrical engineering or construction management, or equivalent preferred; 5-8 years of related experience may substitute.
    • EIT or PE certifications are preferred.
    • Understanding of single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, schematics, and other technical documents.
    • Knowledge of various studies including lightning, grounding, arc flash, and relay settings.
    • Experience with multi-discipline project coordination and energy projects, including renewable energy sources, is highly advantageous.
