    Responsible for managing grants (e.g. the National Institutes of Health (NIH), foundations, and companies) for a number of Principal Investigators (PIs) within the CDNM.

    Responsibilities include:


    The oversight of post-award research administrative activities including: Monitor spending on research grants to ensure compliance with sponsor policies, prepare monthly financial reports to inform the PIs of spending activity, perform complete funding analysis on each grant, and approve federal financial reports in a timely fashion.

    Meet with PIs to review current financial status and forecast of their grants, communicate areas that require attention, and provide recommendations on ways to maximize the use of their funds.

    Review and implement personnel effort changes consistent with the Division's Standard Operating Procedure.
    Review and approve expenditures making sure expenditures are appropriate and consistent with the grant agency and the BWH policies.

    Work closely with the Partners Research Administration/Finance team to ensure timely creation of new internal account for awarded grants and closing of accounts for completed/ended grants.

    Make decisions on proper allocation of costs by providing project/grant numbers for expenditures.

    Meet regularly with other GAs to provide an update on the status of his/her grant portfolio, paying special attention to grants for which the funding period is coming to an end.

    Participate in material preparation for the CDNM's quarterly grants meeting attended by the Division's Executive Committee members. Responsibilities include preparing PowerPoint slides with other grants administrators for review by the Division Administrator.
    Provide financial support to the Division's Channing Computer Core ('core' as defined by the NIH).

    This Computer Core is comprised of 26 IT professionals who support the Division's IT infrastructure for conducting research and manage approximately 800 computer users.

    Work closely with other post-award GAs, Computer Core team, and the Partners Core Finance team to prepare and submit monthly journal entry, and track and maintain the Computer Core's general ledger.

    Provide financial support to the DF/HCC Genotyping Core Facility.

    Work closely with the Senior GA, the Genotyping Core Team, other GAs, and the Partners Core Finance team to prepare and send out monthly invoices, track and maintain the core's billing log and general ledger, handle procurement of supplies and services for the core in collaboration with the core manager, and will communicate with core users relating to financial inquiries.

    All other duties as assigned.
    A minimum of four-year college degree, preferably BS.
    A minimum of 2 years of work experience in grants management or finance.
    Experience with financial analysis and projections preferred.
    Experience with federally funded research grants preferred.
