    This Senior Controls/Automation Engineer role based in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a pivotal leadership position focusing on resolving intricate challenges, upgrading machinery, developing machine specifications, and overseeing machine builds. The role is essential in supporting business unit requirements, particularly in areas such as data collection, waste reduction, operational efficiency enhancements, and yield improvements. Proficiency in Allen Bradley PLC is essential, alongside expertise in SolidWorks, Lean automation, production support, and servo systems. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and hands-on experience in various aspects of machine design, including CAM-driven machines, pneumatic actuators, servos, stepper motors, vision systems, and electrical test instruments. Key responsibilities include:

    • Managing high-volume automated production machines.
    • Designing and specifying machinery, including fixture design and CAM-driven systems.
    • Implementing PLC control systems, HMI interfaces, and I/O configurations.
    • Familiarity with electrical hardware, schematics, and wiring standards.
    • Networking and automated data collection.
    • Translating equipment requirements into viable and cost-effective solutions.
    • Proficiency in SolidWorks for reverse engineering, tooling specification, and CAD modeling.
    • Collaborating with automation suppliers and equipment manufacturers.
    • Driving lean manufacturing initiatives and process validation support.
    • Utilizing Six-Sigma methodology and Minitab Software for analysis.
    • Addressing product nonconformance, CAPAs, and customer complaints.
    • Developing and managing detailed project plans and progress tracking.
    • Communicating effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
