Responsibilities

  • The Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope has been collecting high-energy gamma rays since August 2008.
  • The main instrument, the Large Area Telescope (LAT) is a pair-conversion telescope that observes gamma rays with energies from 20 MeV to above 300 GeV.
