Top Skills We Are Looking For (Enhanced)
- Inventory management experience—especially managing, tracking, organizing, and auditing tools, equipment, and consumables (highly preferred)
- Ability to manage tool inventory systems (check-in/check-out, labeling, cycle counts, tracking damaged/missing items)
- Experience with warehouse or yard organization, asset tagging, and maintaining accurate inventory records
- Enjoys active, physical work; ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work on feet throughout the day
- Experience in construction environments with both power tools and hand tools, including proper handling, cleaning, and storage
- Experience operating forklift, skid steer, telehandler, or other heavy equipment used in material handling
- Experience performing minor repairs such as carpentry, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing tasks
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow checklists, and commitment to asset accountability and workplace safety
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking, logging inspections, and submitting maintenance reports
Major Areas of Accountability (Enhanced)Maintenance
Responsible for housekeeping and ongoing maintenance of the shop, yard, tools, and field assets. This includes:
- Sweeping, garbage removal, and general shop organization
- Basic property repairs (painting, carpentry, shelving installation, minor mechanical fixes)
- Cleaning, detailing, and fueling field vehicles and equipment
- Performing in-house repairs on tools and small equipment when possible
- Submitting weekly reports identifying any tools, vehicles, or equipment that require outside repair or service
- Ensuring proper storage, labeling, and cleanliness of all equipment after use
Asset Inspection
- Performs weekly asset and facility inspection checklists
- Identifies and documents maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Assists in equipment and material cycle counts; ensures accurate quantities, condition tracking, and proper tool return
- Helps maintain up-to-date asset condition reports for management
- Monitors for damaged, missing, or unsafe equipment and reports findings
Property Yard and Grounds
- Maintains a safe, secure, and organized yard, ensuring equipment is lined up and stored properly
- Verifies that tools, vehicles, and storage areas are secured at end of day
- Performs snow removal inside fenced areas, clears entry points, and maintains walkable surfaces
- Handles basic groundskeeping, including weeding, trimming, and light landscaping
- Helps enforce property and asset security procedures
Trailer Loading/Unloading
- Assists with loading and unloading trailers following checklists
- Ensures all outgoing equipment is functional, clean, and safely secured
- Logs inspections when equipment leaves and returns to verify condition, completeness, and safety
- Helps maintain accurate inventory tracking during mobilization and demobilization of field assets
Care of Inventory, Equipment, Storage, and Cleanliness
- Ensures proper handling, cleaning, and secure storage of tools and equipment
- Organizes shelves, bins, yard storage, and inventory cages to maintain an efficient workflow
- Helps ensure all assets remain in safe, compliant, and working order
- Maintains clean, organized, and labeled storage environments
- Supports implementation of inventory control processes (tagging, scanning, labeling, and tracking)
Qualifications for Entry:
- 5 years w/ carpentry, power tools, etc.
- 2-4 years of experience in facilities maintenance
- 2-4 years of experience with data entry using Excel
- 2-4 years of experience installing drywall, building pallets, painting walls, measure and cut properly, nail wood together, etc.
- Knowledge of vehicle and equipment functions, maintenance and safe operation.
- Ability to read, write and follow processes.
- Physical ability to independently lift, carry or maneuver up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with fellow employees.
- Ability to work in a cooperative and team oriented environment.
- Ability to use computers and shop reference manuals.
- Valid Driver's License without restrictions
- Open to work evenings and weekends as available and required.
