    Janitorial Maintenance SpecialistREPORTS TO:

    SALARY GRADE:

    N05The Opportunity Under the general direction of the Portfolio Manager, the Janitorial and Maintenance Specialist performs cleaning and maintenance of the MLCV Headquarters Building, including cleaning, sanitizing, and routine maintenance/repairs.

    What You Get to Do

    • Perform janitorial duties as primary responsibility including daily sanitizing of high traffic areas, vacuuming, cleaning of bathrooms and kitchen areas, elevator, and lobby areas.
    • Respond to customer inquiries, concerns, requests and resolve complaints in assigned facilities.
    • Coordinate facility operation and maintenance activities with building occupants to minimize disruption.
    • Keep daily logs of work performed.
    • Change out simple electrical components in buildings.
    • Clean and service smoke detectors.
    • Respond to work orders from supervisor daily and completes tasks on schedule and communicates with appropriate management for coordination and implementation of tasks and timelines.
    • Perform minor repairs and maintenance of building components and mechanical equipment and carpet repairs and other items such as replacing light bulbs, restocking paper towels, tissue and other supplies, service flush valves, clean mechanical rooms, and plunge toilets and to maintain safety and sanitation standards.
    • Move property furnishings/furniture as directed by supervisor.
    • Assist in wall washing and light carpentry duties as assigned.
    • Ensure that all cleaning materials, chemicals, and equipment are used and labeled in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions as outlined in the Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
    • Maintain strict adherence to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety rules and regulations.
    • Responsible for updating replacements inventory as directed by the Maintenance Engineer II.
    • Assume responsibility for the cleanliness and overall condition of the property/grounds when performing tasks.
    • Ensure compliance with all company service standards, policies, and procedures.
    • Interact with guests and other departments in a respectful, professional, and courteous manner.
    • Use web-based tools in maintenance work on buildings and equipment.
    • Respond to all emergency maintenance requests during work hours. What we look for in a person

    What Qualifies You

    • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in one or more of the following fields: janitorial services or property maintenance.
    • Must have 6 months of janitorial experience or equivalent.
    • Must be able to secure license from Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
    • Responsible for following all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGR's).
    • Must possess excellent written, analytical, and oral communication skills.
    • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
    Work Environment
    While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to:

    • Talk and hear.
    • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
    • Stand, walk, run, sit, balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch and/or crawl.
    • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
    • The associate must frequently lift/or move up to twenty-five pounds, must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to one hundred pounds.
    • Indoor and outdoor work with exposure to chemicals, dirt, dust, heat, etc.
    • Position requires shift work.
    • Must be available nights, weekends, and some holidays.
    • Incumbent must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
    • Travel from site to site and able to climb stairs/ladders, lift, bend, stoop, crawl and carry heavy equipment and tools#IndeedMP
