Job description
We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team in Albuquerque, New Mexico.This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex financial challenges and enjoys working across departments to improve processes.

- Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and conduct variance analysis
- Maintain and update fixed asset records.
- Compile, validate, and distribute comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages.
- Oversee inventory costing processes from requisition to final sale, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Investigate and address item cost irregularities by identifying root causes and implementing solutions.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities
- Monitor spending trends and identify inconsistencies in actual versus budgeted expenses.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, including inventory and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in journal entries, general ledger management, and account reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with month-end closing processes and variance analysis.
- Advanced skills in Excel and familiarity with accounting systems (preferably ).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and support cross-functional teams.
