    Title: Medical Science Liaison OR Senior Medical Science Liaison

    Territory: West (must be based in California)

    Role:

    We are seeking an experienced cardiovascular Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for a one-year contract opportunity with plans to extend or make it a permanent role.

    This is a field-based position, and the candidate must be located in a state in the West territory.

    MSLs are responsible for developing professional relationships with healthcare professionals through scientific engagement to support clinical stage and approved molecules. MSLs engage healthcare professionals through scientific exchange and provide clinical and scientific support.

    Responsibilities:

    • Engage with cardiologists / healthcare professionals / entities to educate on clinical, scientific, and Real-World Evidence (RWE) to advance the science and scientific collaborations as aligned with client goals and objectives.
    • Educate on residual inflammatory risk, clinical value, Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO), and economic analysis to payers, providers, and other appropriate stakeholders as requested.
    • Synthesize and communicate clinical and scientific insights to internal stakeholders.
    • Attend and present at scientific congresses and meetings to stay up to date with the latest scientific developments and trends in the assigned therapeutic area(s).
    • Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with MSL compliance standards.
    • Execute on MSL strategy consistent with Medical Affairs product strategy.
    • Support Client sponsored clinical trials through investigators' site engagement.
    • Support speaker training as requested and ensure speakers are up to date with evolving disease and product data.
    • Support national, regional, and local scientific congresses including Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, poster /abstract coverage, and company debriefs.
    • Identify and execute opportunities for scientific collaboration with KOLs and other relevant stakeholders.
    • Monitor and analyze scientific publications, clinical trials, and competitive landscape in the assigned therapeutic area(s) and allocated regions.
    • Maintain clinical and scientific expertise and general industry business acumen.
    • Advance MSL value proposition, demonstrate tact and professionalism, and deliver results.
    • Act in accordance with company policies, including, for example, the Code of Business Conduct and ethics and Standards of General Data Protection regulations (GDPR).
    • Develop territory specific KOL and account plans including OL profiles, pre-call planning, and follow up plans.
    • Communicate clinical and scientific information in an accurate and clear manner.
    • Document MSL quantitative and qualitative accomplishments.

    Experience:

    • Three or more years of experience as CV MSL or pharmaceutical sales experience
    • CV therapeutic experience, in particular heart failure
    • Industry experience in medical affairs / clinical development at a biotech or pharma

    Capabilities:

    • High level verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic environment.
    • Strong comprehension of disease states, and knowledge of differential algorithms for treatment decisions and experience in disease states of interest to Client.
    • An expert understanding of the health care delivery system, including the managed care arena and its impact on patient care, regional medical care and the pharmaceutical industry. Ability to identify the unmet medical, educational, and research needs at a local & regional level in the medical community.
    • Ability to interpret key scientific data and translate the findings to meet educational and research needs to affect corporate research strategic activities/decisions.
    • Understanding of the design and execution of research studies and strategic implications.
    • Exhibits high degree of emotional intelligence and appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism.
    • Designs and/or leads training initiatives and best practices.
    • Proven ability to drive results at a high level of quality as a strategic and creative thinker.
    • Demonstrates ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in an ever-changing environment.
    • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage projects and/or colleagues in successful implementation of business-critical projects.
    • Strong time management & organizational skills.
    • Ability to travel.

    Computer Skills:

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
    • Experienced with electronic CRM systems.
