    Description

    Job Summary

    A Senior Transportation Officer is responsible for securely transporting detainees between destinations and ensuring that the vehicles used for transportation activities are safe and properly maintained.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist management in resolving unique or unexpected problems while transporting detainees, developing effective solutions.
    • Review vehicle inspection reports, create summaries for Transportation management.
    • Maintain permits and licenses for assigned vehicles.
    • Verify safety equipment on vehicles before trips, notify Transportation management of issues.
    • Track DOT HOS on Electronic Logging Devices.
    • Participate in interviewing and screening Transport Officers.
    • Review necessary paperwork, submit reports to Transportation management according to policies and procedures.
    • Evaluate missions to ensure PBNDS/FBNDS safety measures are met during detainee transportation.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent certification required.
    • Must be at least 21 years old.
    • Two years of driving experience in a transportation capacity.
    • Three years of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer with Arrest Authority or Prisoner Handling and detention experience.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience.
    • Completed approved training program in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
    • Valid driver's license with no preventable accidents or suspensions.
    • Pass company and Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol test.
    • Ability to work overtime, travel extended periods, and handle physical and mental stress.

    Working Conditions

    • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 lbs.
    • Work with machinery.
    • Bend, stoop, climb, walk, stand, sit, and work in extreme temperatures.

    Compensation

    USD $25.13/Hr.
