Proficiently performs coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures, non-ablation electrophysiology interventional procedures, and peripheral diagnostic and interventional procedures. Performs treatments and administers medications according to policy and training. Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions and medications. Knows fire, disaster and safety procedures and regulations as it pertains to the work area - High School Diploma or equivalent required with vocational or other technical school, certification or training required beyond high school in one or more of the following areas:
- Cardiovascular
- Cardiovascular Electrophysiology
- Respiratory Therapy
- Radiological Technology
- EMS
- 0 to 2 years. Previous Interventional Cardiology experience preferred.
- Must possess upon hire and maintain one of the following:
- Radiologic Technologist [R.T.(R)]
- Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
- Cardiovascular Therapist (CVT)
- Paramedic or EMT Licensure
- Current BLS through the American Heart Association required

General Description:
The Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist I is an entry level position that performs a wide range of technical skills, utilized during a variety of Interventional Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology or Interventional Radiology procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. The Specialist I shall become proficient in all aspects of angiography, preparation, assessment, documentation and monitoring consistent with the policies, procedures and processes of the Cardiovascular Services department and Hospital Administration. Adheres to the guidelines and standards of professional practice associations. The position shall exemplify the desired Culture of Choice and philosophies of Parrish Healthcare. The position reports to the Director, Cardiovascular and Diagnostic Imaging Services.
