    The Staff Aero-Mechanical Engineer designs aero-mechanical components of the aircraft and supporting systems (airframe, enclosures, control surfaces, etc.).

    They lead small cross-functional teams of engineers to produce designs, and work across functions to ensure supporting functions can execute (purchasing, production, etc.).

    The Staff Engineer is comfortable creating system and subsystem design from basic requirements. They establish design concepts from initial requirements (clean sheet) and assign elements to more junior engineers. They support review of the resulting designs and support the team's development.
    Responsibilities
    Own the development of new UAV system components from concept through production
    Support existing product line through performance analysis, documentation improvements, and testing
    Create CAD models for new and existing products
    Create documentation packages (drawings, procedures, specifications, etc) for new and existing products
    Observe and assist engineering and production teams in resolving issues
    Communicate challenges with leadership
    Qualifications
    B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar
    7+ years of experience designing complex mechanical assemblies for UAVs or in a closely related field
    Worked with UAV or other flight equipment design
    Familiar with composite part design
    Creating production quality engineering drawings of mechanical parts and assemblies
    Working with part dimensioning and tolerancing
    Worked with cross functional teams (especially electrical and aircraft design)
    Utilized PDM, specifically SolidWorks (preferred)
    2+ years of experience performing engineering work in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
