    The Lumenier R&D team is currently seeking an electrical and computer engineering to support its research and development for our commercial & civil services drone applications.

    This individual will explore new technologies and support a wide range of design, development and test from the digital and analog electronic circuits to computer and network used in our applications.

    Lumenier, formed in June 2013, and (url removed), formed in 2010, is a designer, manufacturer, distributor and online retailer of high-end drone equipment, components, and replacement parts.

    The company provides various FPV (first person view) products including motors, propellers, antennas, lipos (batteries), airframes, and many more items.

    In additional to their own websites, Lumenier products are sold through a wide variety of online retailers including (url removed) and through various distribution channels.

    Lumenier and (url removed) currently sell primarily to the end consumer.

    However, the demand in drone use in commercial markets is growing rapidly and Lumenier is expanding their business to business sales efforts selling both commercially and to OEM drone manufacturers.

    Consumer drones are primarily used for cinematography and racing. Commercial drones have several potential uses such as search and rescue, surveillance, agriculture, inspection, mapping, and package delivery.

    It is estimated, that the drone market will grow from its current volume of $7.8B today to over $60B by 2020.


    The company is headquartered in Sarasota, Florida with a newly built, open environment facility and a second facility based in Shenzhen, China.

    Position Overview

    Design, perform design verification on and troubleshoot digital, analog electronic circuits

    Write embedded test code in FPGA and collect test data and perform data analysis

    Perform system model simulation

    Develop low complexity PC Board assemblies and test fixtures.

    Develop test firmware/scripts for automated testing of assemblies.

    Perform integration testing of new hardware with thorough documentation of test results

    Work with engineers, write and release engineering documents

    Complete special projects as needed and other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    Experience with digital/analog circuit, micro-controllers and embedded programming

    Experience with high level programming languages and IDE

    Hands-on experience with soldering and circuit testing

    Work independently as well as strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills

    High level of skill in decision making, problem solving and analytics

    Integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm and confidentiality

    No travel is required for the position

    Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

    US Citizen

    Aptitude and passion for digital and firmware design

    Knowledge with LabView and/or Mathlab

    Experience with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, MatLab, Altium and SolidWorks

    PCB design experience

    Knowledge of asynchronous communication protocols

    Programming ability for test automation

    Familiarity with engineering tools and test equipment

    Device design library creation on up keep

    PCB design and prototyping capabilities

    Base knowledge of electronics

    Soldering skills

    Education

    Minimum:
    Bachelors degree in Computer and or Electrical Engineering

    Preferred:
    Master degree in Computer and or Electrical Engineering
