    Director of Distribution

    Location: Cape Canaveral, FL

    Ideal candidate resides in Central Florida. No relocation assistance.

    Position Summary

    The Director of Distribution is an executive-level role at Ron Jon Surf Shop Corporation, overseeing the company's entire distribution network and ensuring goods move efficiently from suppliers to stores across five states. This role leads strategic planning and directs logistics operations—including warehousing, transportation, inventory, and people management—while collaborating cross-functionally to optimize supply chain performance, minimize costs, and improve delivery times, all while maintaining high service standards. The Cape Canaveral, FL facility operates 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

    This role requires a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a large-volume distribution center. Applicants without this background will not be considered.

    Required Qualifications

    • BA/BS in Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field — or 10+ years of high-volume distribution management experience.
    • Minimum 5 years' experience managing multiple levels of management/direct reports and a large hourly workforce.
    • Proven track record of mentoring, developing, and promoting direct reports.
    • Experience managing distribution budgets, transportation contracts, warehouse operations, and labor planning.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment.
    • Must pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and credit check.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Manage all inbound/ outbound freight, transportation logistics, and administrative functions.
    • Analyze distribution data to optimize routes, improve processes, and ensure accurate, on-time seasonal store deliveries.
    • Coordinate with vendors and third-party logistics providers; negotiate transportation contracts and manage the distribution budget.
    • Oversee inventory levels, warehouse capacity, management systems, equipment, and space layout to maximize efficiency and product accuracy.
    • Forecast hiring volume, balance daily workloads, and plan labor for peak and non-peak seasons.
    • Recruit, select, train, coach, and develop supervisors and associates; conduct evaluations and hold leadership accountable for performance goals.
    • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture through compliance monitoring, audits, inspections, and risk mitigation.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to align distribution operations with company objectives, policies, HR initiatives, and corporate values.
