    SPANISH TEACHER

    Position Summary

    The Ephrata Area School District is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Spanish Teacher to provide high-quality instruction at the secondary level. The successful candidate will promote student engagement, language proficiency, and cultural awareness while delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in Spanish.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan and deliver effective Spanish language instruction aligned with Pennsylvania standards.
    • Create a positive, engaging classroom environment that supports student learning at all levels.
    • Utilize research-based instructional strategies, differentiated instruction, and instructional technology.
    • Develop and implement assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
    • Collaborate with department colleagues to support curriculum development and instructional consistency.
    • Communicate academic expectations and student progress with students and families.
    • Support diverse learners, including students with IEPs, GIEPs, and English Language Learners.
    • Maintain accurate records, grading, and documentation in accordance with district expectations.
    • Participate in professional development and fulfill other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (required)
    • Valid Pennsylvania Department of Education teaching certification in Spanish or World Language
    • Teaching or student teaching experience in the certification area preferred
    • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills

    WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:

    • Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members.
    • Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner.
    • Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.
    • Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.
    • Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook

    Other Requirements:    Applicants must also possess the following criminal clearances obtained within the last 12 months: Act 34 - PA Criminal Record; Act 114 - FBI Background Check; Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance

    The Ephrata Area School District also requires a pre-employment drug test, physical, and TB test upon offer of employment as directed by PDE and the PA Department of Health.

    Status: Contracted Position
    Salary Range: Current EAEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
