Job Description

Basic Function and Scope of Responsibility:

The Business Information Security Officer (BISO) is the information security primary point of contact for the assigned business unit and supports the implementation and oversight of the information security program.

The BISO is the security leader for their area of responsibility and works closely with all levels of the information security organization at Eurofins.

The BISO will collect business requirements and will provide advice and oversight to ensure compliance with information security policies and procedures across all IT systems and processes.

This position is specifically responsible for responding to complex client inquiries in relation to security controls on premises as well as cloud infrastructure and helping with onsite or remote client visits and audits.

In addition, this position will provide support for audits, including gathering and discussing evidence and managing remediation responses and activities.

This is a full time position, with the following work schedule:

Monday- Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with overtime as needed.

Essential Job Duties:

• Develop and maintain in depth understanding of business unit processes, systems, technologies, data, customers, consumers, partners
• Partner with laboratory and executive leadership to identify regulatory and customer information security and compliance requirements of the business
• Partner with business unit, regional, and Eurofins Group information security, compliance, legal, HR, and IT resources to achieve effective working relationships that can further the effectiveness of the cybersecurity program
• Act as the primary local security officer for all business stakeholders including executive leadership, ensuring alignment of cybersecurity program with the business
• Help determine scope of onsite visits, audits, and assessments as defined by contracts and regulatory requirements
• Engage with clients and customers in supporting external audits
• Assessment of Eurofins Group, regional, and local policies and procedures, identifying gaps based on local regulatory and customer compliance requirements
• Augment regional and local policies and procedures to close gaps and achieve alignment with upstream regional, and global IT and information security policies and procedures
• Achieve alignment and crosswalk of all policies and procedures to required regulatory and cybersecurity control frameworks
• Partner with Regional Information Security Officer (RISO) in establishing and maintaining consistent approach to respond to client/customer security assessments
• Partner with Regional Information Security Officer (RISO) in establishing and maintaining consistent approach to vendor/supplier security assessments
• Partner with Regional Information Security Officer (RISO) in establishing and maintaining consistent approach to secure SDLC and DevSecOps processes
• Collaborate with the Regional Information Security Officer (RISO) and local/regional IT support teams to develop a technical roadmap.
• Implement and monitor execution of local, regional, and Eurofins Group cybersecurity standards, policies, and procedures.
• Partner with regional and Eurofins Group information security audit, risk, and compliance teams to conduct assessments and/or audits of IT systems, processes, and general IT controls. Interpret results and communicate recommendations to management
• Actively contribute toward the effective management of information security risk at local and regional levels by proactively identifying areas of noncompliance and partnering with local and regional IT toward resolution
• Work with Eurofins global Security Operations Center (SOC) to assist in effectively driving incidents to acceptable resolution; assist with investigations as needed
• Provide escalation path for security issues, incidents, and inquiries
• Participate in and represent the business at corporate regional/global information security conferences
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree required, preferably in computer science or information systems
• 2+ years in a regulated industry with compliance discipline (Computer Systems Validation, Software Quality Assurance)
• Experience with ISO, NIST 800-53, HITRUST or other top tier cybersecurity risk management framework
• Experience in agency regulations (e.g., FDA (Food and Drug Administration) 21 CFR Part 11, 211, 820; EudraLex Annex 11 and guidance (e.g., EU, GPSV), and industry best practices (e.g., ISPE, GAMP 5), GxP guidance, and GCLP recommendations.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technology/development and business partners
• Strong relationship, team building and facilitation skills
• Ability to translate technical/security issues to business users
• Ability to independently influence others to achieve objectives
• Service Level Management experience
• Knowledge and experience of Information Security Risk and Security governance
• Ability to develop and implement creative solutions and improve processes while ensuring and maintaining compliance
• Highly motivated self-starter who can self-prioritize to ensure optimum & timely results.
• Must have strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines, despite conflicting demands
• Must be a team player who adapts to a fast moving and dynamic environment

Physical Requirements:

• Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other office equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead
• Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting
• Ability to continuously operate a personal computer for extended periods of time (4 or more hours)
• Mental acuity sufficient to collect and interpret data, evaluate, reason, define problems, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, make valid judgments and decisions
