    Pay

    $ $20.67 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)

    Schedule
    Monday - Friday, flexible hours between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. (20 hours per week during school and up to 40 in summer months and breaks).

    Job Summary

McKee Foods Corporation is looking for an enthusiastic Food Science Intern to join our Plant Technical Services Department. Starting immediately, you have the potential to grow with us throughout your college journey. At McKee Foods, you'll gain the technical, business, and customer service skills needed to become a well-rounded and highly marketable professional.


    Responsibilities

    • Collect data and use statistical analysis to set product specifications.
    • Assist in developing standard operating procedures for departmental functions.
    • Develop relevant food safety trainings for employees.
    • Analyze data for trends and drive continuous improvements in the areas of food quality and food safety.
    • Work on special projects and assist cross functional teams to drive manufacturing excellence

    Required Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Science, Food Safety, or a related field
    • Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Masters student
    • Strong computer skills in excel and other Microsoft office programs
    • Interest in and/or aptitude for working in Quality Assurance
    • Strong customer service mentality and communication skills
    • Collaborative team player with a willingness to accept responsibility
    • Initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities
    • Eagerness to learn new skills
    • Availability to work during school breaks

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 3.5 or higher overall GPA
    • Strong Excel skills, including chart creation, graphs, pivot tables and advanced formulas
    • Knowledge of McKee Systems such as PIDW or OPM
