Special Testing & Consulting is a well-established, highly respected Engineering Company seeking a full-time, Administrative Assistant for our Farmingdale Office. Ideal candidate has a good work ethic, is reliable, has positive, professional disposition, strong computer and communication skills. We offer long term, stable employment in a busy, amicable office setting with growth potential for the right individuals. Training provided for responsibilities providing listed qualifications are met. Not required but a plus, if you have Engineering, Construction industry or related experience.

Admin Asst Qualifcations/Skills

• Associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience as Administrative Assistant/Support Office Experience or related position
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Outlook with knowledge of Excel
• Essential be dependable, have positive attitude and professional demeanor
• Ability to learn quickly, multi-task with attention to details
• Self-motivated, ability to work independently and still be part of a team
• Not required, but for knowledge or experience within Engineering or Construction industry a plus
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Not required but a plus if you have experience or knowledge in Engineering or Construction related industries

Admin Asst Responsibilities

• Liaison with Field Engineers for obtaining reports and general information
• Updating & auditing tracking logs and spreadsheets for Engineer Reports
• Preparing inspection reports via typing/data entry (will train)
• Communication and follow up with our Field Engineers, clients, and vendors.
• Review Engineer Reports for quality control
• Additional diversified administrative support duties consistent with Engineering industry

Special Testing & Consulting, LLC has a full service in-house testing laboratory that is licensed by the New York City Building Department and successfully assessed by the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL). It is operated under the supervision of a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer and all testing is performed by American Concrete Institute (ACI) and/or International Code Council (ICC) certified inspectors. Our laboratory includes a state of the art moisture controlled curing room and work stations for concrete testing and for soil testing; all with new equipment furnished in each station.

As our company name suggests, we are fully equipped to provide Specialty Testing Services. The Company owns equipment including concrete coring equipment, rebar finders (pachometer), windsor probe and pin equipment, hydraulic jacks and steel test fixtures for pull testing, etc. so that we can service any special needs of a project.
