Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at WingXpand. As a key member of our robotics experts team, you will drive the entire lifecycle for critical aircraft electronics.We design, build and deploy complete systems - hardware, software and data - and we move fast. You will be empowered to take ownership of critical electrical systems rapidly moving from concept to creation on tight deadlines.
You will own hardware from concept to code writing the low-level firmware (C/C++), perform initial board bring-up and develop code that makes your hardware perform its mission. Roll up your sleeves build test harnesses troubleshoot hardware on the bench and on the aircraft implement design improvements in real-time. Solve system-level challenges ensuring seamless integration optimize for Size Weight Power SWaP ruggedize systems IPXX standards for real-world conditions tackle high-energy power systems designing integrating validating high power density current discharge battery solutions validate fly supporting system validation rigorous environmental testing thermal vibration EMIEMC field operations flight testing seeing immediate results work.
- A proven problem-solver with 8+ years relevant experience in aerospace robotics automotive.
- A Hardware Expert Who Writes Code fluent primary PCB design tool Altium OrCAD KiCad equally proficient writing C C firmware make that hardware function comfortable ambiguity pace excel taking high-level goal concrete engineering tasks even when path perfectly clear understand urgency startup environment deliver pressure instinctively understand single component impact entire aircraft performance power budget EMI flight endurance reliability Bachelor Master degree Electrical Engineering related discipline demonstrated experience designing building programming complex electronic systems prototype production proficiency schematic capture PCB layout software hands-on soldering wiring lab equipment oscilloscopes logic analyzers etc strong experience embedded systems programming C C Additional Qualifications experience high-density current battery BMS FAA Part certification passion flying drones RC aircraft RF antenna communication protocols familiarity simulation tools SPICE MATLAB What Else Need Know conform U.S Government aerospace technology export regulations applicant must U.S Person U.S Citizen Permanent Resident Green Card Holder self-motivated results-driven individual innovation technology want hear resume optional cover letter CV types engineering technical roles hired
