Summary/Objective

Experience

The Machinist will be required to set up and operate various manual machines. Must be able to demonstrate proper use of measuring equipment and instruments. He/she must also demonstrate reading and understanding of complex manufacturing blueprints. Must be able to stay within specified tolerances. Must have the ability to maintain production rates.

In addition, they would be responsible for performing all functions associated with lathe operation, drill press, grinding, milling, and auxiliary equipment as well as performing operator maintenance activities.

Gibbs cam Programming experience preferred.

Requirements


Trainee: Must be familiar with the equipment, have a good work ethic, demonstrate good math skills, and communicate positively.

Machine shop training/ schooling preferred
Machinist: Must meet the criteria of trainee. Must also demonstrate the proficient operation of one or more of our CNC machines, at a proficient level. Reading and understanding blueprints, along with measurements and tolerances.

Essential Functions Set up and operate VTL manual lathes, milling machines, cylinder grinder, Blanchard grinder, key-seater, and drill presses, while staying within tolerances and allotted time frames.

Education and Experience

• High school, 5 years vocational education, preferred
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read blueprints and follow routers
• Ability to read and understand operating procedures
• Ability to perform basic math
• Daily and weekend overtime may be required
