    As the Electrical/Controls engineer, you are a key member of our Research and Development Team.

    You will be at the forefront of designing, testing, and implementing new innovative products and automation equipment, as well as enhancing existing ones.

    This position covers all aspects of Electrical/Controls design engineering, including power management, code compliance, logic architecture, component selection, and integration with mechanical, robotic and software systems.

    You will work with the Engineering Manager and design team to complete designs and bring them to market.
    RequirementsDuties and responsibilities

    • Design, modify, and support industrial equipment and processing systems.
    • Engage with supplier representatives and customers to identify specifications, components, and systems, as necessary.
    • Prepare drawings for component layout and machine wiring schematics.
    • Develop, modify, and maintain code for PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems.
    • Collaborate with project team to produce project documentation including instructions for service and repair manuals.
    • Interface with personnel across the organization to ensure the accuracy of documentation.
    • Provide technical assistance to manufacturing and field service personnel.
    • Investigate system, equipment, or product failures.
    • Evaluate performance of electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems or equipment.
    • Identify new applications for existing and new technologies.
    • Research industrial processes or operations.
    • Coordinate safety or regulatory compliance activities.
    • All other duties assigned.
    Requirements Education / ExperienceBachelor's degree, B.S.E.E., B.S.M.E.T. with 5 or more years of experience in automation design.

    Specialized KnowledgeAutomation Technology - Knowledge and experience including design, programming, and configuration of PLC, Servo, and Robotic control systems for machine applications.

    (B&R controls and ABB robots preferred).Engineering and Technology - Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.

    Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

    SkillsDesign Software - Competent in the use of Electrical CAD software in a collaborative environment. AutoCAD Electrical platform preferred.

    Documentation - Experienced in the use of ERP or PLM systems to create and edit product data including Parts, BOMs, Product Structures, and Change/Release Processes to allow for the efficient production of the product or system.

    Evaluation- Capable of evaluating quotations, specifications, and documentation to determine functional requirements, identify missing information, and define the required tasks for electrical designs to achieve the goals of the systemCommunication- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal with competency in computer and Microsoft Office productsActive Listening- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points made, asking questions as appropriate.
