POSITION: 2nd Shift Production Supervisor
LOCATION: Washington
HOURS: Monday – Thursday, 1:30 PM – 12:00 AM. Overtime as needed.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assist the Production Manager with all required functions in
designated area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
- Lead, train, coach, and develop production team members to achieve performance expectations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures; promote a strong safety culture.
- Monitor production schedules and workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Identify and resolve production issues, including quality defects, equipment malfunctions, and labor challenges.
- Maintain accurate production records, labor tracking, and performance metrics.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, safety, and quality.
- Conduct daily team meetings and shift handoffs to ensure clear communication.
- Assist the Production Manager with labor planning, scheduling, and coverage to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Support special projects, audits, and process improvement initiatives as assigned by the Production Manager.
- Conduct annual employee evaluations
- Understand machine setup, operations, and troubleshooting
- Assists with the preparation of time estimates for jobs and monitors them, reporting deviations to the manager and customer service while making recommendations to resolve problems and increase efficiency
- Investigate work related injuries, completing accident reports and making recommendations
- Other duties as assigned
REPORTS TO: Production Manager
SUPERVISES: General Helper, Operator Class A, B, C, Material Handler
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Ability to train and share knowledge
- Ability to read drawings
- Comprehension of written documentation
- Minimum 5 years supervisory experience
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong computer knowledge; knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel essential
- Strong teamwork and team building skills
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Post secondary education or equivalent job experience
REQUIRED TRAINING:
- All applicable Occupational Safety and Health Regulations
- Olon specific training for designated position
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF JOB:
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, and moving machinery.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58, $62,000.00 per year
