    GENERAL PURPOSE

    This position is responsible for supporting the marketing and communication team as it relates to public relations, marketing campaigns, special events, fund-raising, and partnership development.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent plus a minimum to two (2) years' of experience in marketing, journalism, communications or related field. Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite and desktop publishing software. Must have great organizational skills, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to multi-task and work calmly and effectively under pressure. Must have reliable transportation.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. Writing and submitting press releases and monthly event calendars.
    2. Organize and assist with implementation of marketing plans.
    3. Assist staff in developing promotional marketing and sponsorship materials, seasonal brochures and flyers, e-blasts, applicable newsletters, and website content as needed.
    4. Assist with seasonal program guide proofing and editing.
    5. Maintain partnership/ media contact databases.
    6. Assist with purchasing and budgeting for the department.
    7. Distribute marketing materials to District facilities and community businesses.
    8. Post event and program updates on various online calendars and social media sites.
    9. Assist with the coordination and execution on social media for the District including various online calendars and blog outlets.

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, ETC.

    Must have and maintain: a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record and CPR/AED certified or obtain within one (1) year of employment.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    Must be able to: frequently remain in a stationary position for long periods with frequent repetitive hand/arm movements such as when working on a computer; occasionally position one's self to assist with event setups and move objects weighing up to 20 lbs. and rarely over 20 lbs. and over head and shoulders; occasional move about at events, the facility to access files, etc.

    BENEFITS

    $ $21.00 per hour

    HOURS

    22-24 hours per week
