Job Summary:

The AP/AR Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payments and collections, maintaining detailed records of transactions, and preparing accurate financial reports. This role ensures the company's finances are accurate and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable:
  • Process and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services.
  • Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare batches of invoices for data entry.
  • Manage the weekly payment cycle, including checks, electronic transfers, and credit card payments.
  • Maintain updated vendor files and file numbers.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Prepare analysis of accounts as required.
• Accounts Receivable:
  • Generate and send out invoices.
  • Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries.
  • Process adjustments.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an AP/AR specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling finances.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, specifically in accounts payable and receivable.
