    Job Description

    American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 30-bed ICU position requiring an active OH or compact RN license, 2 years of ICU experience, and current BLS and ACLS certification.

    Responsibilities
    Work in a 30-bed ICU with primarily MICU and SICU patients, and some Neuro cases
    Non-trauma ICU where all traumas are stabilized and transferred out
    Patient ratios typically range from 1:1 to 1:3 depending on census and staffing
    Care includes management of arterial lines, central lines, PICCs, ports, vents, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, high flow, and nasal cannulas
    Critical drips including heparin and routine titration of critical medications are utilized
    Intensivist available during day shifts, telemedicine intensivist and hospitalist coverage at night
    Ancillary staff support provided when census exceeds 15 patients
    12-hour night shifts with every other weekend and every other holiday required
    EPIC EMR is used; previous experience is preferred but not required
    Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, critical care treatment planning, and direct intervention for critically ill patients
    Perform ventilator, hemodynamic, and multi-organ failure management, including advanced life support technologies
    Coordinate care and communication across interdisciplinary teams and serve as a point of contact for patient's families
    Candidates will be required to wear navy blue scrubs
    Pass/fail EKG testing is conducted on the first day with two attempts permitted
    Holiday and every other weekend coverage are required

    Requirements
    Active OH or compact RN license required
    Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
    NIHSS certification required
    Minimum 2 years of RN experience with ICU experience required
    Must pass dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided), with two attempts allowed
    Experience with LVO's, EVD's, lumbar drains, Swans, IABP, Impella, and CRRT preferred
    Previous EPIC EMR experience preferred
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
    Applicants must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
