- Feeding and nutrition management
- General facility cleaning and maintenance, including powerwashing and laundry
- Daily animal care and treatment
- Assisting in semen collection of boars following procedures set by unit manager
- Follow proper semen handling procedures
- Executing dead animal removal
- Adhering to and enforcing site biosecurity protocols at all times
- Completing specific daily/weekly routines dependent on the type of facility and department
- Assisting other departments and employees as necessary
- Completing all required recordkeeping promptly and accurately
- Operating site machinery as directed by supervisory personnel
- Assisting in the training of new boars
- Assisting with animal movement
- Routine and seasonal vaccinations and injections with strict adherence to label directions and withdrawal requirements
- Follow all safety rules and practices and encourage coworkers to do the same.
- Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation
- Communicate clearly and effectively
- Regular, consistent attendance
- Dependable transportation and company insurance approved driving record is required as this position has 1-2 delivery shifts every two weeks. A company vehicle is provided for the delivery shifts.

Shift: Full-time position. Mondays - Thursdays. Rotating Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Schedule has some flexibility.
What you'll do:
The Animal Care Technician specializes primarily in the daily care and semen collection of the boars at the boar stud site. This position involves working in an agricultural environment with continuous hands on interaction with livestock and regular structured routines. Respect and care for all animals is required at all times.
