Job Description:

The Communications Technician is the primary role for the Data-Comm division with job responsibilities ranging from cable installation to advanced troubleshooting and mentoring. Work includes projects involving low voltage, structured cable, and/or fiber installations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete tasks as assigned, maintain personal production goals, and perform work accurately and timely.
Coordinate installation work with other team members using effective and professional communication.
Set the work pace and demonstrate an excellent attitude to provide role model for others.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of trade practices and code, tools and equipment, theory, and installation skills.
Responsible for keeping current with applicable industry codes, standards, and installation techniques.

Requirements:

years verifiable work experience in telecommunications to understand the various categories of copper and fiber optic cables.
to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
to install and build out closets with minimal supervision.
competence and high standard of excellence in the following areas: tool knowledge and mastery, blueprint reading, installing cable supports and pathways, dress cables, terminate various types of connectors, and work safety.
attention to detail and work ethic.
to effectively communicate with supervisors, employees, and clients.
skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents.
Promote best-in-class safety practices and procedures. Promote a culture of exceptional safety.
