The Retail Supervisor plays a vital role in furthering the Goodwill mission by overseeing our retail stores and donation sites to reach their objectives. As a supervisor, your tasks include managing store operations, ensuring efficient register performance, meeting daily production targets, delivering top-notch customer service, and fostering employee development. Utilize your expertise and leadership skills to train, motivate, and guide associates towards creating a customer-centric store and donation environment. Collaborate with your team to attain sales and production goals for a successful store.
Key competencies expected from our Retail Supervisors:
Working at Goodwill goes beyond just a job. You will be actively contributing to our mission of providing training, employment, and supportive services to individuals with disabilities or disadvantages seeking greater independence.
RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL:
Develops and implements strategies to achieve organizational and retail store goals, and maintains policies, procedures, and programs. Engages in projects and initiatives that may span several months.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
1. Project and Change Management: Effectively plans and manages tasks, completes routine responsibilities and special assignments. May participate in formal projects as a team member or subject matter expert.
2. Problem Solving: Works independently under light supervision, solving moderate to advanced complexity issues by identifying root causes and resolving them.
3. Technical Skill: Applies professional skills to modify processes and resolve situations within their specialization area.
4. Community Engagement: Supports Goodwill's community initiatives and acts as a brand ambassador in the community.
5. Optimize the value of donated goods and uphold production and store standards.
6. Ensure proper rotation of goods in the store for a constant flow of new merchandise.
7. Train and coach employees to maximize their productivity and collaboration. Ensure adequate coverage at POS and donation areas.
8. Assist in the associate hiring process, including phone screens, interviews, orientations, and training.
9. Serve as a Service Experience Leader (SEL).
