    Job Description:

    The primary responsibility of the Adjunct Faculty member is teaching. We are seeking adjunct instructors to teach the following course at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI):

    BUS 6400 Organizational Behavior (Fall semester, two sections, 3 credits each)

    Course Description

    Organizations are made up of people, their employees. For this simple reason, how employees think and act can cause the organization to be effective or ineffective, depending on how their thoughts and behaviors are managed. Effective leadership of organizations thus requires awareness, understanding, and proper management of employee behavior. Therefore, this course seeks to make you familiar with the broad variety of topics that constitute organizational behavior. Topics will range from those at the individual (micro) level, such as personality and intelligence to the organizational (macro) level, such as organizational structure, culture, and change. This course will also cover other topics that can be applied to all levels, such as power and influence, leadership, and work motivation.

    The successful candidate must share in the mission of KGI and the Riggs School of Applied Life Sciences Programs. The Adjunct Faculty member reports directly to the Associate Dean of Faculty and works collaboratively with the Program Directors and other faculty.

    Located in beautiful Claremont, California, Keck Graduate Institute is a member of the prestigious Claremont Colleges, a consortium of five undergraduate liberal arts colleges, two graduate institutions, and The Claremont Colleges Services, which provide shared institutional support services.     Education and Experience
    • Minimum of a Master's degree in a related field. A doctoral degree is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
    • Prior experience in teaching for active learning preferred.
    • Experience with the Canvas learning management system is a plus.

    • Provides high-quality student instruction

    Special Requirements:

    Physical and Mental Requirements

    Ability to maintain good concentration while dealing with interruptions; attention to details with emphasis on accuracy; capable of giving, receiving, and analyzing information, formulating work plans, and articulating goals and action plans.

    Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time. Standing for extended periods of time. Ability to hear within normal parameters. Ability to bend and stoop (e.g., to file). Ability to move about. Ability to lift and carry short distances up to 20 lbs. (e.g., to lift or move office supplies, files, books, and packages).
