RÊVE is a classic French bistro in Lafayette, Michelin recognized since 2021, maintaining 4.9 stars on OpenTable. Our menus change seasonally.

We are looking for a professional career server to join our small team. We are open Tuesday - Saturday closed on Sunday & Mondays. The shift is 5 nights a week Mid-May though December, then potentially 4 nights January - April (as business slows down, shifts are reduced) Open from 5-9, the shifts are aprox 4pm - 10pm or 10:30 (earlier out time mid week). Our team of severs works with a tip pool, all tips are declared. Annual range is aprox $75k-85k.

Ideal server:

MUST HAVE: 4-5 years as a server in a restaurant with multi course service.

Certified sommelier CMS or level 2 WSET (or equivalent knowledge)

Ability to manage 4-6 table stations with grace and efficiency

Wine knowledge & ability to learn wines. Our list is almost exclusively French. You must be comfortable properly serving both still and sparkling wines.

If you don't have extensive French wine knowledge you will be expected to study and learn within your first few weeks of employment. We will provide books and videos. Continued employment will be based on your ability to learn and you will be tested on your knowledge.

Our menu changes seasonally. You must be willing and able to learn new menus and be able to communicate them with the guests (allergies, etc)

You are a team player, yes it is your job.

Servers work with a tip pool, so everyone works hard to maximize their income. This includes being a top sales person, and providing excellent service. Establishing long term relationships with our guests.

Drama free. You're at work on time when scheduled, don't call out sick and have a positive attitude when you are at work. Your uniform is clean and pressed.

We are closed July 21 - August 6 for our annual summer break. This is a paid break for long term employees. Closed Thanksgiving & Dec holidays are paid if they fall on a business day)

Interviews will take place over the next 3 weeks, we are looking for the right fit. We need someone available by mid-May.

Physical requirements:

• Be on your feet, walking at a fast pace for up to 6-7 hours at a time
• Hand carrying multiple plates and other items
• Carry cocktail trays of multiple drinks
• Bend and lift throughout the shift
• Speak in a clear and professional manner
• Ability to work with handheld POS systems / see small screens / use touch screens
