Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Student Security Analyst will assist in the day-to-day operations of EKU's Information Security Program. This will entail utilizing knowledge of computer security, hardware, and software to help develop, implement, and monitor information security for the University.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be enrolled at EKU.

Preferred Qualifications:

Basic computer skills such as Word and Excel
Understanding of network concepts such as the OSI model, firewalls, switching, and routing
Preferred experience in Linux or one of its variants
High technical skill and awareness of information security theory preferred
Strong customer service skills
Effective communication skills particularly in written documentation and procedures
Detail oriented

Job Duties:

70% – Daily operations and monitoring of security systems. – (Essential)
20% – Aid in developing, implementing, and maintaining university information security strategies, policies, and practices. – (Essential)
10% – Contributes to the effective operations of the department and the University by completing all other duties and special projects as assigned. – (Essential)

Sponsorship: Visa sponsorship will be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the needs of the unit, available sponsorship budget, and the qualifications of the candidate.
