    VulcanForms seeks a Director of Production Planning for our Devens, MA location.

    Job Purpose

    As the Director of Production Planning at VulcanForms, Devens, MA, you will manage production planning and control at our VulcanOne site. You will own the overall strategy and planning across production, materials, capacity, warehouse management and logistics and work closely with the plant General Manager to ensure an efficient production workflow and on-time delivery. You will build and develop a team of highly skilled planning professionals. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in production control, material management, demand planning, and capacity planning. This role requires expertise in production planning in a research & development (R&D) and transition to production environment. The Director of Production Planning will design and implement a planning strategy that supports the current development work and scales to high volume production.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Lead the development of the planning process at VulcanOne site
    • Implement systems to improve efficiency of production processes
    • Ensure production systems are in place to meet company requirements
    • Own the reporting and results on the production progress of customer deliverables
    • Ensure delivery commitments to the internal and external customers
    • Meet key company goals for operational performance including inventory turnover, on-time delivery, manufacturing cost reduction
    • Manage the full integration between Production Control and Warehouse staff to support shop floor operations, and lead work order on-time starts
    • Work with the Machine Build Team to help assemble the machines to ensure cross-functional alignment and timeliness.
    • Execute and monitor the planning and replenishment of all materials required for product delivery and machine builds.

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years of manufacturing experience.
    • Demonstrated expertise in production, material, demand planning, and capacity planning, preferably in an R&D and high volume production setting.
    • Experience in undergoing an ERP transition or deployment– Epicor preferred.
    • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Proven track record of successfully leading change initiatives.
    • Ability to communicate at all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goal.
    • Must be able to influence negotiate and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
    • Ability to use and analyze information in order to establish priorities.

    Preferred

    • Excited about taking on new challenges in the metal additive manufacturing industry and working in a fast-paced startup environment.
    • Experience in Aerospace or Medical manufacturing environments.
    • Experience with machine design and assembly.
    • CPIM certification.
    • Strong sense of ownership.
