    Position Summary

    Position Summary: The Part-time Art Model is responsible for modeling poses for students to create 2D and/or 3D pieces, contributing to a positive art studio experience and learning environment.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:

    Poses draped or unclothed for figure drawing class

    Holds a variety of well-designed and visually interesting poses; holds requested poses for short or extended periods of time; remembers an exact after rest periods; resumes same physical position, angle, and facial expression

    Takes a series of short poses varying in time from one to ten minutes to enable students to practice capturing quickly the essentials of an action or gesture

    Takes and holds a pose without moving for twenty to twenty-five minutes; takes a five minute rest and resumes the pose; continues for entire class session or as directed

    Performs the duties and responsibilities of the position in accordance with the philosophy, mission, policies and procedures of the college

    Performs other related duties as assigned

    Education and Experience Requirements:

    High school diploma or equivalent


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
    Ability to hold poses for a short or extended period of time
    Ability to relate to a diverse population and to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations
    Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other department staff, faculty, students and the public


    Work Environment & Physical Requirements

    Work Environment:
    Work is primarily performed under general supervision in a typical classroom or laboratory setting with appropriate climate.


    Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: lifting, manual dexterity, ability to communicate.


    Sedentary Work:
    Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting majority of time; walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met

    Utilizes memory for details and verbal instructions; emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability and creative problem solving skills are important
