Shifts vary Facility is open 7 days a week, including holidays
**Job Responsibilities:**
Takes patient meal orders at directed time
Maintains accurate and current information for each patient on assigned unit(s)
Communicates any patient-related problems or concerns with appropriate personnel (supervisor, dietitian, nurse) in a timely manner to ensure patient satisfaction and safety
Assist Dietitian with monitoring of patients as requested including, but not limited to, those patients on NPO, liquid, or calorie count diets
Retrieves trays from patient room at appointed time
Interacts with nursing to ensure patient diets are accurate and all patient dietary needs are met
Has knowledge of and complies with all patient dietary restrictions as implied by physician order while ensuring optimal food preferences
Contributes to patient satisfaction goals by providing professional quality to service to all patients, staff members, and guest of the food and nutrition department and hospital facility
Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting, walking, pushing and/or pulling carts
Perform first in, first out. Accurately cover, label and date all food items. Ensure all outdated items are discarded. Accurately document food temperatures.
Maintain courteous, considerate, cooperative and accurate communication with facility personnel, patients and families.
Other duties as assigned
**Requirements:**
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Previous hospitality/dietetic experience
The ability to communicate with all levels of customers/patients and co-workers in a courteous and professional manner
Experience with tablet computers and wireless technology
Follow guidelines concerning guest services, food and physical safety
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift - up to 50 pounds
Physical requirements include standing, bending, lifting, walking, pushing and/or pulling carts
Drug screen and background check required
**Certification**
ServSafe Food Handlers or other food safety certification is highly preferred
