Veeco is looking for a Quality Manager (Quality Management Systems) to join our Global Operations organization to maintain our quality management system operating in a multi-site fast paced environment.
As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, managing, and maintaining effective Quality policies and procedures that meet contract requirements and the criteria for ISO 9001 compliance in all areas.
You will oversee the Internal and External Quality Audit programs and Corrective and Preventive Action programs.
You will help to establish and utilize key performance metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support operational effectiveness to meet and exceed the challenging requirements of our customers.
You will drive a systems approach into critical quality processes consistent with the expectations of customers in the semiconductor industry and ISO 9001.
Responsibilities:
Manage/lead ISO 9001 certification body audits of our quality management system in conjunction with external auditors during on-site recertification and surveillance audits
Manage/lead customer audits of our quality management system and special processes in conjunction with customer technical representatives and/or auditors during on-site and remote visits
Manage/lead other third party audits of special processes that are a part of our quality management system in conjunction with technical representatives and/or auditors during on-site and/or remote audits
Internal Audit Plan development and execution ensuring ongoing compliance to our quality management system in direct accordance with Quality Standard(s)
Corrective and Preventive Action program implementation, management, and maintenance for timely and effective resolution
Create, update, and control documentation necessary for the effectiveness of the Quality Management System
Champion and lead continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and its associated processes in pursuit of achieving Corporate Quality Objectives and Customer requirements and expectations
Analyze data to develop and implement recommendations for continuous improvement
Facilitate and present quality management review data and activities to Sr Management
Provide training on quality procedures, foster a culture of quality awareness, and develop employees' quality-related skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical area. Minimum of eight (8) years of related experience, at least two (2) in a Management role. Recognized industry certification(s) - ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor and/or ASQ CQA or equivalent are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
On-site four days per week minimum: San Jose, CA site preferred; will consider Somerset, NJ or Plainview, NY
Ability to travel up to 15%
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to drive continuous improvement
Ability to conduct root cause/corrective action analysis
Ability to establish operational metrics/key indicators for process control and ongoing quality process improvements
Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards, and methodologies
Solid knowledge of quality tools (e.g., Pareto Charts, Cause and Effect Diagrams, Flow Charts, Root Cause and Five Why Analysis, 8D)
Must be a strong communicator, able to effectively influence both verbally and through the written word
with all levels of the organization
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of semiconductor industry requirements is preferred
Green belt or black belt problem-solving experience is a plus
Experience with SAP quality module is a plus
