- A good general mechanical background and understanding to ensure that bank properties are maintained properly and to review the bids and work performed by contractors.
- The management ability to coordinate the rendering of such maintenance and general services throughout the bank.
- Two to five years of job-related experience to be familiar with the technical aspects of the department.
- Responsible for bank security systems and ATM machines.
- Negotiates vendor service contracts, responsible for obtaining contractor bids.
- Responsible for delivering mail, purchasing supplies and equipment throughout the bank.
- Directs the activities of subordinate delivery and clerical employees in providing such services.
- Approves all bills associated with purchasing and general services according to accounting procedures and departmental approval policies.
- Supervises storage facilities.
- Responsible for maintenance of security equipment.
- Responsible for training staff concerning robbery procedures and alarm systems.
- Makes final hiring decision for department. Makes recommendations for personnel within department regarding training, performance ratings, salary changes, promotions, transfers and terminations within Guides and advises employees within department in the more complex phases of their work.
- Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.

Summary: Is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the general
maintenance function, including the maintenance of all bank properties, negotiating
service contracts, coordinating remodeling jobs, obtaining contractor bids, pickup and delivery of mail and purchasing and recordkeeping of supplies throughout the bank. Confers with department heads to coordinate remodeling projects and develops strategies to perform work as efficiently as possible. Maintains regular contact with vendors and service representatives when reviewing work performed, reporting malfunctioning equipment.
