    Job Summary Reporting to the Director of Critical Care Nursing/Nursing Practice, the Nurse Educator is responsible for the educational needs of the acute care nursing team. This includes planning and implementing didactic and clinical training programs for newly hired Acute Care RNs (new graduates and those with experience). In cooperation with the management team and the clinical nurse specialists, the education specialist is also responsible for the day to day assessment of the educational needs and maintenance of competencies of the nursing staff. This includes a focus on national patient safety goals, new treatment modalities, equipment and technologies, and educational follow up in areas identified as needing improvement.


    Position Qualifications:


    Education: MSN preferred. BSN required.


    Required Licenses & Certifications:

    Current California RN license, BLS, PALS preferred


    Experience:

    3-5 years Acute Care experience. Previous proven experience and expertise in teaching.


    Skills & Abilities:

    Basic proficiency with computer systems (word processing, spreadsheets, data base). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent teaching and interpersonal skills.
