Job Title: Cost Control Manager

About the Role

Luster is seeking an experienced Cost Control Manager to oversee project cost management and implement effective cost control strategies for a prestigious mass transit project in San Francisco.

This is a long-term, part-time, on-site position located in San Francisco.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and lead implementation of cost control plans and procedures.
Establish and monitor control budgets in consultation with project team and stakeholders.
Monitor actual costs / expenses against project budget / commitments and prepare cost reports.
Identify potential cost savings and cost control opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Review and provide recommendations for project change orders and cost variations.
Verify contractor, vendor and supplier invoices.
Develop and maintain cost databases and historical cost records.
Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and project team members.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
10+ years' cost control and budget management experience in leadership positions on large heavy civil projects in metro or rail.
Experience in cost management systems (e.g., InEight, EcoSys, Oracle Unifier, etc.)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of local and federal codes and standards.

Compensation Details:

The salary range listed for this role is $118k-$174k annually ($57-$84/hr). The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate's level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
